For example, curtain walling systems are generally used in city center buildings as these systems assist in providing internal climatic control. In Europe, different countries' timing and degree of response to the COVID-19, followed by gradually restarting economies, adversely impacted the façade market in the region. Prominent players suffered a significant downturn in production and revenue forecasts due to the lack of raw materials from the disrupted global supply chain. The COVID-19 crisis was particularly adverse in Italy, France, and Luxembourg, where construction activities declined 71.1%, by 64.4%, and by 52.2%, respectively, between February and April 2020. Notably, the recovery rate between April 2020 and July 2021 was dominant in France at 174.3%. Additionally, by July 2021, the construction production in EU countries reached 98.6% of the pre-COVID-19 level of February 2020. In July 2021, the building construction reported an increase of 0.3% compared with June in Europe. Therefore, after facing an adverse negative impact in the region due to COVID-19, the façade market in Europe is showing signs of regaining momentum. Furthermore, incorporating modern façade systems in new buildings to create an energy-efficient and well-ventilated structure has led to a positive avenue for the market in the long-term post-pandemic scenarios.
